For this assignment, I took a look at the Facebook page for one of my favorite tech companies: Apple, Inc. Everyone knows who Apple is, the kind of products they make, and has an opinion on wether they like the company or not. When you are a company with a reputation as large as Apple’s, do you really need much social media presence? The obvious answer to me personally is “Yes, because more presence won’t hurt your company”, but when you take a look at Apple’s Facebook page, you’ll find much different results. Apple has not made a post to its Facebook page since November 20th of 2018.
Apple’s posts mainly consist of videos featuring their products, not many posts with just picture advertisements. However, their videos collect somewhere between 150k-500k views per video-and that is just on Facebook. It looks like these posts receive lost of shares and comments as well, so the little attention that Apple gives Facebook does seem to pay off.
I would recommend that they try to engage more with their audience on facebook by making more posts more frequently, and possibly responding to individuals more in the comments.
